The theme of 2 Chronicles is that God cannot be dethroned. Even when His people were being punished He was still in control. There was a time when Israel had become so corrupt God allowed their nation to be destroyed. Even those who start out strong in spirit can fall away from God. Even those who are divinely inspired are capable of committing sin. And if we stand for the truth we will not likely be popular.
