It’s possible to be very zealous for religion but still be far away from God. If we worship idols or if we do not worship Him by the methods He prescribed in the Bible we worship in vain.
If we fight against Him we are guaranteed to be defeated. We must not choose the world’s ways over God’s ways. And we must never toss the Bible aside or alter it to suit our preferences.
