The prodigal son discovered there is no lasting pleasure in sin. He also found out the cost of sin is surprisingly steep. His season of sin cost him all his money his relationship with his family his freedom his self-respect and his friends. All this was given up for misery. But he woke up he looked at himself as he really was he had a talk with himself and he made a decision to change his situation.
