A Lot of Trouble For a Midnight Snack

Allen WebsterAudio

Hospitality was very important in both the Old Testament and the New Testament times. This aspect of religion was taken very seriously. Travelers could not easily find a room to rent or food to eat nor did they have much disposable income to pay for these things. It would have been very rude for a host not to provide food for a traveler or for a guest not to eat it. But if it was very late and a family’s door was shut it might take a lot of persistence to receive this hospitality.
