We tend to view suffering as a bad thing but it can often lead to positive ends. The loss of a Christian loved one may give us a stronger desire to enter Heaven. The reward of being with that loved one again is just one more treasure awaiting us in Heaven. The loss of prestige or peer respect helps us gain closer fellowship with Christ. And the loss of a loved one’s support can present an opportunity to glorify the Lord.
