The Bible is God’s word. It is perfect and it is the only standard by which we should live our lives. Personal preference conscience and family tradition are not reliable guidelines for obtaining salvation or living righteously. These are all based on personal standards and they enable us to easily stray from God’s will. Nor should we trust anyone else’s teachings without consulting the Bible; if we blindly accept doctrine we risk our souls.
