When Jesus’ tomb was opened His grave clothes remained laid out just as they had covered His body and His shroud was folded and put aside. If His body had truly been stolen the grave clothes would have either remained on His body or been cut off quickly and tossed away. And no robber would have taken the time to fold the face cloth; rather the Lord left it as a symbol of His return. And the multiple appearances of Jesus to His disciples provide our main evidence of His resurrection.
