Christians should give a portion of our funds to the church on the first day of every week. We should give something each week regardless of pay schedule in order to participate in all acts of worship. We give to help the poor to help spread the gospel and to help build and maintain a church building. The New Testament does not tell a specific percentage God expects from us. But He promises us that those who sow bountifully will also reap bountifully and we will not starve in the process.
