We need the mercy of God and in order to receive it we must give it to others. Merciful people can empathize with other people and understand what drives others to behave as they do. They are able to choose their words wisely to build others up rather than hurting them. They extend mercy because they realize they need mercy. They are willing to give others another chance. And they never hold a grudge.
