It’s important for us to respect our parents. They take care of our needs when we are young and they care about our well-being. They still love us when we leave and begin our own families and they probably don’t see us as much as they would like. And when they grow older we need to return the care they gave us in our youth. Consider how Jesus interacted with His mother. In His adulthood He made time for her treated her with respect and maintained autonomy from her.
