Shame may bring about repentance that would not have come otherwise. However we must be careful not to disrupt other people’s lives through gossip. We must not be cruel with our brethren but if we do find ourselves at odds with a brother or sister we need to resolve that conflict peacefully and try to improve our relationship with him or her.
