God’s will for marriage is for one man and one woman to be united for a lifetime. Divorce is a violation of God’s commandment to cleave to one’s spouse. God joins us together in marriage and it is not humanity’s place to tear that holy union apart. The only scriptural grounds for ending a marriage is adultery.
