Jesus evaluates the work of His church and the motives behind each person’s labor. We will not receive the ultimate reward for our service until our work has been examined.
As God’s servants we should try to build something for Him every day. We can do little things every day which can ultimately lead to saving souls.
Our work will be tested on the Day of Judgment but it is also being tried every day of our lives. We will face persecution as Christians and so will those whom we convert to Christ. We need to prepare those to whom we teach the Gospel to endure the trials they will face.
We will not lose our salvation if one of the people whom we converted falls away but we will suffer loss and receive a diminished reward if they do.
